No other reason. Not waiting on the sidelines, nothing else. Why else would I spend $1000 if it wasn't because I expected to enjoy it. Get your head out of the sand, or somewhere else. I'm not the only person saying this!!!! Miss Hoodoo - why name yourself after his worse ever LP - the one even JF regarded as a flop? Anyway, we didn't go home by London Transport - and Dutch trains are so much better!. We don't live in London..we live two hours away. Commitment I think? Walter...If you weren't there you don't have any right to comment. You don't know what you are talking about. Shutup and go away.

Opinions all around, big friggin' deal. We've been there, heard that before from both sides of the table. I am glad John changed it up and am looking forward to the Portland, ME concert in 45 days! My rose colored glasses got smashed back around 1980 then I got some new ones around 1985, lost them in 1987, got them back in 1997. It's not about the man, for me, it is about the music that has been there since I was 12 and has evolved and expanded along the way. I'll never forget the first time I heard Proud Mary on the radio in 1969. Knocked me off my seat. Played CCR over and over, annoyed the crap out of my brother. Blue Ridge Rangers introduced me to country music. Then back to Rock and Roll with Shep. Downer when Hoodoo got pulled and no release - then silence for 8 LONG years. December 1984, Christmas shopping and heard Old Man Down the Road in the store and went crazy. Bought the single then Centerfield when it was released first day when the store opened. Wore the needle out on the turntable. You get the picture.... I could go on forever. Since 2000 I have enjoyed numerous concerts, got to thank the man in person for his music that has never let me down and always picked me up. Yeah, I have rose colored glasses and they ain't comin' off. If any one doesn't like it... well, remember the old Robert Conrad TV commercial with the battery on his shoulder..you know what I'm talkin' about. Go ahead.... "And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin', Chasin' down a hoodoo there. Chasin' down a hoodoo there."

I'm 52 and I'VE been a Creedence fan since my teens - I still have my battered copy of Cosmo's somewhere... My Creedenceials number: In the dark days of the 90's when John wasn't touring the UK I flew from the UK to Oslo, (Norway for those geographically challenged) with a bunch of friends just to see him on the Blue Moon Swamp tour and he was incredible... Hammersmith 2006 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bURupmA1_is - the 3 figures sillouetted in the spotlight right in front of John, are Me, my partner and my brother... BEST show we've ever seen for obvious reasons... Wembley last year.... Great show... Last night - less so... __________________________________________________________ The disappointment a lot of people found last night was, in my opinion, down to the: - relatively late start - I too had a train to catch - breaks enforced by the DVD filming which broke up the flow of the show - the set list itself which didn't allow the band to "lift" the audience after these silly breaks. God knows he has enough great songs in his locker to allow him to do this but whether they just didn't think about it enough or they were trying to cram new material in for the DVD or it just didn't occur to them is anyone's guess. And YES I KNOW this isn't a tribute band but a lot of people come to hear him sing the songs they know and love so a sense of balance is always a good idea. In detail: Start Comin' Down The Road Born On The Bayou Lookin' Out My Backdoor Rambunctious Boy Don't You Wish It Was True My Toot Toot Cotton Fields Brilliant start - the place was buzzin'. I thought he was gonna take the roof off and I loved the fiddle AND the backing singers. We were in the Arena seats but we could see that even the people in stalls were up and moving... I seriously thought this was gonna be better than Hammersmith. 10/10 Then there was a short break for make-up, annoying but not fatal. Restart Commotion Creedence Song Ramble Tamble Not a great choice of songs here in my opinion as many people don't know them THAT well so the audience starts to go flat. If they'd come back out to Midnight special, Traveling Band, Up Around the Bend etc... they would have had the audience back... Band plays two songs while John goes for shirt change, long, confused and messy break - some hand clapping. Again, OK for the diehards at the front but many people paid to see John, so at this point they were losing the bulk of the audience... Restart again... Gunslinger I Will Walk With You Somebody Help Me Broken Down Cowboy Again - on top of all the other interruptions, there was no way that this choice of songs was gonna lift the, by then, flat crowd... The people in the stalls and many around me were sitting by this time. I'm afraid the thing with his wife came across as a little mawkish to a UK audience - generally we don't like having our chains yanked in this way (no matter how sincere the emotions) though perhaps this was more for the benefit of the DVD audience than anything else. Restart again... Keep On Chooglin' Southern Streamline Blue Ridge Mountain Almost Saturday Night At last a song to lift the bulk of the audience but by then the damage had been done... Rock And Roll Girl Night Time Is The Right Premonition Long Dark Night I Can't Take It No More I'll confess that I had to leave after this... We were both bitterly disappointed that what should have been a fantastic night had been ruined - not that it will stop us going again and again for as long as he has breath to tour and sing, and we have life to live... But last night was a LONG, LONG WAY from being a great concert...

I will say this, the pension fund is really an older recording titled "Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle". Everything released after that is for artistic entertainment purposes. I am looking forward to a DVD of the RAH concert, and will play it several times over. CK PS - Hey John, come to Baltimore, Pier Six Pavilion or Ram's Head. I'll be there!!! Watch 'The Wire' all seasons on the bus before you come LOL!

About 98% of us on this forum love that long lost LP and we play it often. It shows you aren't keeping up with JCF and thought you were going to CCR. Sorry folks but CCR is no longer performing, not here or anywhere. Fogerty has moved on in his life and it is time you kept up with what he is doing today.

"and the acoustics were bad." WTF??? Did you see the PA system?? From where my mother and I were standing, it was like we were listening to a CD. I think it was a great show, very good songs, very good performance. On top of that we got 2 smokin' performances of Billy Burnette! I bow to no man (or woman) in my admiration of JF (40 years a fan, several concerts, played CCR songs in a band blah, blah - enough of a CV to comment?) but I agree that the RAH concert was a disappointment. I can't understand those of you who seem to think it was some kind of a privilege to be there, that it was about 'John' and his family' 'his big night' etc. I like MOST of the people there paid to see him play his music - if I had been invited or I had been paid to be an extra I would have no foot to stand on but that wasn't the case. There was no mention of a DVD when I bought my tickets and its no good posting the change to the times at the venue - its a bit late then. I am judging the performance on the basis of what I saw at his last two concerts. . Listening to him bethering about how special it all was? Well for reasons I won't bore you with this was meant to a very special night for me - and I was let down. And I was the one paying a lot of money tp see him play his music. So like a hell of a lot of people - most of whom won't ever visit this site, yes, I am p****d off. And I will be there next time he plays - I just hope he leaves the film crew behind.

Posts: 26 (06/26/08 06:33:48) More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	It seems like the problem here is that some people feel like they paid good money for a concert, but ended up getting "hijacked" into participating in an artificial, less-than-spontaneous DVD recording, commercial enterprise. Perception is reality to each individual, so if someone didn't like the experience, then they didn't like it, and you shouldn't try and bully them into liking it. That ship sailed on the night of the show. Now, let's compare the RAH event to similar DVD/TV recording events held in the last 10 years in the USA. How was the audience obtained for the "Soundstage" recording? How about the "Long Road Home" DVD? "Austin City Limits"? "Premonition"? For anyone who attended any of those shows, did you have to pay for your ticket? Did you know exactly what you were getting involved in before you walked into the venue? Maybe the RAH event should have been handled in the same manner as similar Fogerty events in the USA. If you knew well in advance what it was going to be, and you had a free ticket that you had to request through the website somehow, then the venue is going to be filled with Fogerty fans aware of what was going to happen. Was it fair to make the London fans pay for the same thing that the USA fans have gotten for free? If it is a paid concert, then it should be filmed and released "as is", warts and all. If it's going to be a slick, professionally produced DVD production, then do it the way the USA productions were done. I was at a Chicago concert in the 90's that was being recorded for an ABC-TV/video production, and they just played like it was a regular concert. No stops and lengthy delays, or the "phoniness" of a staged production-type event. The eventual TV special and video release turned out just fine. I've been to few studio TV tapings also, but I knew exactly what I was getting into. A different, but still enjoyable, experience. Definitely not a spontaneous, concert-type experience, though. -- HBB
